Announcements & Upcoming Events

Fall Kickoff | Save the date for our Fall Kickoff after church on Sunday, September 10th, to celebrate being together and all the exciting things we have planned for the fall! There will be information about parish groups, volunteer opportunities, Sunday school classes, and more.

Women’s Bible Study Begins September 12th and 13th | Ladies, join us for a 10 week study of the book of Ecclesiastes. We will use the study guide Living Life Backward by David Gibson.  Please purchase your book here and come prepared to discuss Chapter 1 at our first meeting.  The evening study will gather on Tuesdays 7-8:30pm in the choir room, no childcare provided.  The morning study will gather on Wednesdays 10-11:30 a.m. in the choir room.  Childcare is available with an rsvp to Laura Perez. For general questions reach out to Lauren Buescher.

Men's Retreat | Men, please RSVP your spot on our fall men's retreat September 15th-17th at the Wellspring Retreat Center outside of Blanco, TX. This is a great, low-key opportunity for spiritual and relational refreshment and growth, not to mention fantastic food and a high-stakes corn hole tournament. We'll get a details letter out to attendees ASAP. We highly encourage you to come; it has proved to be impactful in past years and we trust the same will be true next month.

Sunday School begins September 24th | Sunday School happens before worship at 9:30am and will run for 9 weeks, ending on November 19th, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. There are two adult classes and two children and student classes. Childcare will be available for children 1st grade and younger. Info for each class is below:

  • 2nd - 5th Grade Class  |  Listening to Jesus. Contact: Laura Perez.

  • Middle School Class  |  New City Catechism. Contact: Joey Perez.

  • Brentwood Legacy Class  |  Staying True in a World Far From God. Contact: Jimmy Shackelford.

  • Adult and High School Joint Class  |  Introduction to the Reformed Faith. Contact: Matthew Brownfield. Here's Matthew's description of the class: "Our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America, describes itself as "True to the Reformed Faith." In this adult education class, we will explore the history and doctrines of the Reformed Faith with the hope of understanding what it means to be true to it. For the majority of the class, we will use the Westminster Confession of Faith as our guide. But we will take a few detours along the way as well.  The class requires no outside reading, but if you wish to read ahead at home, please secure a copy of Confessing the Faith: A Reader's Guide to the Westminster Confession of Faith by Chad Van Dixhoorn. We will have some class copies to share each Sunday as well."
